This treatment should be in the course of the<br \/>\nsummer season be repeated to keep the odor barrier intact<br \/>\nkeep for optimal results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infestation image<\/strong><br \/>\nA large number of bark beetles, weevils longhorn beetles and<br \/>\nWood wasps live in weak and dead trees and shrubs.<br \/>\nThe main group for infestation immediately after planting<br \/>\nis the group of bark beetles and particularly subgroup of spider beetles.<br \/>\nThe mother beetle drills small holes in the trunk (especially on<br \/>\nthe warm southwest side), mates, makes a passage and lays<br \/>\neggs. The larvae eat corridors through the cambium and the<br \/>\nyoung wood tissue. The tree loses at the feeding sites<br \/>\nthe entire sap flow. A planted tree comes<br \/>\nin spring in leaves and after infestation begins<br \/>\nturning to yellow and shrinking, very similar to<br \/>\ndesiccation symptoms. The beetle is common<br \/>\nthroughout Europe and is especially active in heat.<br \/>\nSome examples include elm sapwood weevil (Scolytus scolytus),<br \/>\nbirch spider beetle (Scolytus ratzeburgi), pine shaver<br \/>\n(Tomicus piniperda) and oak spider beetle (Scolytus intricatus).<br \/>\nRegularly affected host plants are Quercus, Castanea,<br \/>\nUlmus, Fagus and Populus and, to a lesser extent, Carpinus,<br \/>\nCorylus, Ostrya, Sorbus and Betula.
