Pinus sylvestris

Pinus sylvestris, also known as the Scots pine, is a sturdy pine tree commonly found in landscape plantings. At first, the pine grows slowly, but as it matures, the Pinus sylvestris grows faster and can reach heights of between 10 and 25 meters. This depends heavily on its location.

At our tree nursery, we grow Pinus sylvestris as standard ‘trees,’ as pruned shrubs, and even as multi-stemmed shrubs.

Starting in the nineteenth century, many Scots pines (Pinus sylvestris) were planted for mining and timber production. In an area like the Oisterwijk forests, you can still find many Pinus sylvestris trees.
