Mart van den Oever, a tree grower through and through
In a two-part film produced by the Dutch Dendrological Society Mart van den Oever looks back on his life as a tree grower, together with Huib Sneep.
The book covers the right tree in the right place, thorough knowledge of plants, and the expertise needed to grow trees and help them reach maturity. It also explores history and the *Boomspiegels* written by Frans Fontaine. Additionally, it discusses the tree grown from seed and the well-known, select *Fagus sylvatica* ‘Black Swan’. We’re also looking ahead to the future, where species such as Sycoparrotia, Sorbus ‘Dodong,’ and Nyssa sylvatica deserve attention.
Part two takes an in-depth look at the trees surrounding the office in Haaren and in Jacques van den Oever’s private garden. This valuable collection of trees is now in full maturity. Mart and Jacques discuss the origins, characteristics, and ages of the trees. LINK to Part 2
