Heptacodium miconioides

The seven-sun tree shows up best in shrub form.
In the months of August and September, the shrub blooms in beautiful white panicles.
Small box fruits with a purple-red calyx form during and after flowering; these are also very ornamental.
The cultivar attracts many bees and butterflies during flowering.
The shrub has a nice upright growth but later grows wider.
A fun fact is that Heptacodium miconioides has only been in cultivation since 1980, the shrub is native to China.
