Blackthorn, or Prunus spinosa, is a native hedge plant native to northwestern Europe. A blackthorn hedge has a lot of root deposit and is therefore especially suitable for creating wild hedges in the countryside, for example as a wooded bank between plots or along a road. But Prunus spinosa can also be used well in large parks and gardens. The densely branched system of roots allows blackthorn to be planted on hills, with the roots preventing the soil from sliding. The blackthorn produces beautiful fruits that can be eaten by humans and animals after night frosts.
