The Gelderland rose (Viburnum opulus) is a shrub or low tree in the muskweed family. The species also occurs naturally in the Benelux. The plant can grow from 1.5 to 6 meters tall. but averages up to 3 meters in height. In the Netherlands, the Gelderland rose is mainly found in the river area along creeks or streams and it can also be used well as a hedge and yard boundary. The Gelderland rose blooms in May and June with white flowers that appear in flat corymbs. After flowering comes pendulous clusters of berries, which remain on the bush for a long time.
